As we keep our distance to stay safe, we must otherwise come together as a community to help those of us most in need. The Angeleno Campaign provides direct and immediate financial assistance for individuals and families experiencing extreme financial hardship caused by a job loss, severe reduction of work hours, or furloughs. This includes low-wage hourly workers who had jobs in homes and restaurants, seasonal workers, and other precarious workers such as day laborers, street vendors, or self-employed individuals who are facing extreme economic hardship because of COVID-19. Every dollar donated through this fund will go to Angelenos in need – $1,500 per month will keep a family of 6 from falling into crisis.
Federal assistance will take time to arrive, and federal rules will cut too many Angelenos out from assistance. It is critical that we prevent more families from falling into crisis during this time.
Families will receive assistance through no-fee debit cards enabled by Mastercard’s City Possible network and distributed through designated city community centers.
