Mayor Karen Bass Thanks Outreach Workers at the We Are LA Resource Clinic at the MLK Day Freedom Festival
Mayor Karen Bass joined the Mayor’s Fund at the MLK Jr. Freedom Festival in Historic Leimert Park Village on Monday to thank outreach workers who are at the forefront of eviction prevention work. The outreach workers are part of the We Are LA team supporting MFLA’s Resource Clinics across the city. Through their outreach work, We Are LA successfully connected with over 80 community members to engage them on crucial resources that can help prevent them from being evicted.
The clinic is the first of three planned, aimed to assist individuals at risk of eviction before the looming February 1 deadline for settling back rent from October 1, 2021, to January 31, 2023. The second clinic is scheduled for Saturday, January 27th.
